You have all seen someone who just had a heart attack or a cardiovascular arrest or maybe even a respiratory arrest , But do you really know what to do in case someone could be a stranger someone you have never seen before in your life or could be someone you see everyday such as a member of your family happens to have a cardiovascular arrest where the person is just seconds from death if first aid isn't implied on time . So if you don't know what to do in this occasion , Then you must pay attention to this article .

C.P.R stands for CardioPulmonary Resuscitation. It is more likely you will need to practice CPR on a member of your family than on a stranger. Due to the fact that the people who happen to have a heart attack are at home because heart attacks are more likely to occur during 5:00 Am and 8:00 Am . During this hours the body by its own biologic clock during this hours the body's fluids and all other vital chemicals that keep the heart, brain and other very important organs are at low levels and specially the heart beats are also low . The body is at a point where it doesn't need to much blood to work during this time , However this doesn't mean you can't have a heart attack before or after this hours . This proves that a person who has learned CPR is more likely to practice it on a family member that they love and know . Therefore are you really to act against the attack ? Well you shall know that if you are practicing CPR on a person no matter who it is and that person get a broken rib due to you practicing CPR the family or this person cannot go against you with the law , in that case you are protected by the Good Samaritan Law ; in the United States and Canada are laws protecting from blame those who choose to aid others who are injured or ill. They are intended to reduce bystanders' hesitation to assist, for fear of being prosecuted for unintentional injury or wrongful death. The name Good Samaritan refers to a parable told by Jesus in the New Testament (Luke 10:33-35).

In other countries (as well as the Canadian province of Quebec), Good Samaritan laws describe a legal requirement for citizens to assist people in distress, unless doing so would put themselves in harm's way. Citizens are often required to, at minimum, call the local emergency number, unless doing so would be harmful, in which case, the authorities should be contacted when the harmful situation has been removed. Such laws currently exist in countries such as Italy, Japan, France, Belgium, Andorra, and Spain. The photographers at the scene of Princess Diana's fatal car accident were investigated for violation of the French Good Samaritan law.

Let say you are walking down the street and you encounter a man/woman by the sidewalk unconscious on the floor . what should you do ?

Step one - Check the area , If your life isn't in danger . Go ahead and help.

Step two- Check if the person has pulse and if it's breathing ....Let's say he or she isn't breathing and has no pulse. Now Call 911 or ask someone to do it for you.

Step three- Put the body flat on the ground facing up , and create an " AIR WAY " by putting the the chin of the person up and firm. Now you must check that the air way you have created isn't blocked by gum , food , vomit , and even the person's tongue. Now that the Air way has been created and is clear .

Step Four - Put yourself perpendicular with the victim's body , and place your fingers on top of the low bony part of the chest and the beginning of the stomach, count two fingers up from this point and place your other hand on top now take your other hand and place it on top of the one you already have in place .

Step five - You must now used you back and lower part of your body to push down up to 15 times per set. Always have your arms straight and firm . Keep the rhythm and count " and one , and two , and three , and four , and five " up , down , up down ... you must do it in the same time you're pushing and down. Keep doing this until you've reach 15 . Do not push down too hard or fast , this could cause the air to flow into the stomach instead of the respiratory system. DO NOT PRACTICE CPR ON A PERSON THAT HAS NORMAL PULSE AND IS BREATHING WELL , this could cause the heart to function improper.

Step six - Now days this step isn't necessary however you can still do it . Due to the amount of oxygen the blood contains the brain can function without receiving mouth to mouth respiration as long as the blood is circulating. How do i make the blood circulate ? By pumping and pushing the abdominal part of the victim you're making the heart pump blood. This could work but in case you feel like giving the person mouth to mouth respiration . You shall ; check that there are not body fluids that could transfer deceases to you only if you don't know the person and if you don't have a mouth to mouth respiratory protection bag. Now pinch the victim's nose so that the air you're providing doesn't escape through it . Blow easily and slowly but with force to make the lunges inflate . Don't do this too fast .

Step seven - check if the person isn't breathing still or if the victim doesn't have a pulse yet , if the victim doesn't show any results then keep on doing this until help from professionals arrive , or until you get tired . In some cases people have had heart attacks while practicing CPR . So always think of yourself , remember the law can't force you to help someone however you shall always help if you know how to. Now review this and check for the steps to see if you know what it takes to give CPR.
